A safety check involves walking around the vehicle and checking visually for any issues that may lead to a breakdown or an accident. In the safety check, we ensure that all important components are fit for purpose. The check typically takes 20-30 minutes to complete and includes a thorough inspection of the main vehicle components such as:

Following the inspection, we provide a detailed report to the driver of the vehicle which is then signed by the driver and the company in recognition of the check being carried out.
At Irish Truck & Trailer Company, our safety check comes as standard with all of our services. However, you can avail of our visual safety check services on a regular and scheduled basis. We highly recommend all HGVs, trucks and trailers undergo a visual check at least once a month. The RSA carries our random roadside checks and if your vehicle is found to have any issues you can be subject to a fine and your vehicle may even be taken off the road until the problem is rectified.
